JIN AKANISHI’s debut U.S. album, “JAPONICANA,”
topped the iTunes Dance Chart as he swept
through Los Angeles, Vancouver, Honolulu,
New York City and San Francisco
with a high-energy and uncensored concert tour.
Burbank, CA, March 20, 2012 – Multi-talented music artist,
Jin Akanishi, kicked off his five (5) city North American
concert tour on Friday, March 9th at Club Nokia in Los Angeles,
CA following the release of his U.S. album, “JAPONICANA,”
on March 6th. Eager fans lined up a day before
each concert to see Jin perform up close.
“The concept of the tour was to keep it raw and uncensored,”
said Akanishi, “It’s my first U.S. album, so I wanted my fans
to focus on the music. No smoke and mirrors.
The dancers helped create the club-like atmosphere and
of course my fans rounded everything out.
I’m so grateful for all of their love and support.”
The anticipation in the crowd was contagious at each concert
as they waited for Jin to take the stage. The audience erupted in
applause and screams when he opened with his #1 iTunes Dance
Chart track, “Sun Burns Down.” Jin continued to electrify the crowd
with his smooth, unwavering vocals and impressive dance moves.
He performed a generous set list including his debut U.S. single,
also a #1 iTunes Dance Chart topper, “Test Drive feat. Jason Derulo.”
Closing out his set with “California Rock” got the crowd pumped up
dancing with their hands in the air. The encore song was his sentimental
and popular Japanese ballad, “Seasons,” which was Akanishi’s way of
thanking all of his fans for their unwavering support.

“JAPONICANA” is a multifaceted album that showcases
Akanishi’s different talents from singer, song writer to producer.
The album is comprised of an eclectic mixture of genres,
from catchy dance beats to tracks with a pronounced urban edge.
The Grammy Award-nominated group, the Stereotypes,
who have produced hit songs for Ne-Yo and Far East Movement,
had a part in producing “JAPONICANA.”
Platinum hit-maker, Static Revenger, known for producing music
for acts such as Madonna, also worked on the album.
